Good Morning Disciples
Smell that? It’s in the air. It’s playoff baseball in Chicago. 7 long years since we’ve had the last home playoff game at Wrigley Field. I remember sitting in a cold green seat while I watched James Loney’s Grand Slam off Ryan Dempster sail into the dark night, effectively ending that 08 team’s season. And now we’re back, Jake Arrieta is on the bump, he is ready to eat the soul of an entire fanbase yet again, and Wrigley will be absolutely ELECTRIC. If you don’t get out of work a couple hours early today you need a new job. If you have a ticket to tonight’s game and you aren’t in Wrigleyville getting yourself hydrated at least 2 hours before first pitch, you should give that ticket away. And if you don’t believe in the Church of Jake, well then just throw yourself off a bridge. As we all understand, you never know when these moments come back around, especially for the Chicago Cubs. Enjoy today, it’s going to be a fun one.
Oh and thanks to the Sun Times for the free promo.
PS
If anyone is nervous about Kris Bryant’s mini slump, he ate 3 donuts yesterday at the team breakfast. If that doesn’t scream “don’t worry, I got this” I don’t know what does.
